A SEAT AT THE TABLE: Breaking Bread
This exhibition explores the cultural and spiritual significance of food in the Islamic world, with a focus on bread as a shared staple across Muslim societies. From flatbreads baked in traditional ovens to the act of “breaking bread,” it highlights bread’s role in daily life, ritual, and community. Accompanying films, produced by Christian Diaz and Aisha Al-Muhannadi, document diverse bread-making traditions in Qatar and beyond, featuring breads from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Turkey, and Yemen.
